In collaboration with the Parish Council, who were successful in securing a National Lottery Grant to fund the project, a video documentary entitled “What makes a villager?” has been produced.
This video and project are inspired by the 1919 Annual Village Assembly which focussed on the impact of the ‘Sale of the Village’ in 1919. The finished project will be an excellent legacy for those involved to leave, for both the school and the village community. Jamie from JD Productions (a local company) has professionally produced the footage and we hope you agree, it’s a fantastic piece of work.
At Acorns Primary, we are passionate about our wider curriculum and the life experiences that we offer our pupils; this project has enabled the children to make meaningful links between their locality and the geography, history, English, and performing/creative arts learning which takes place in school. The involvement of the School Council and Class 3 pupils has helped develop pupil leadership skills and the project has provided an exciting opportunity for the pupils to be a part of history in the making.
Thank you to everybody involved; we hope you enjoy watching.
