What is OPAL?
At Acorns Primary School, we believe that play is an essential part of every child's development. That is why we are proud to be an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) school.
OPAL is a nationally recognised programme that helps schools improve the quality of children's play opportunities. It is built on the understanding that play supports children's physical health, emotional wellbeing, social skills, creativity, resilience and confidence.
Through OPAL, we are transforming our outdoor spaces and playtimes so that every child has access to rich, exciting and inclusive opportunities for exploration, imagination and adventure.
